Do you sometimes forget that you're a writer?

Often times life happens and you're so caught up in it that you forget what you love to do. I know this past week, I truly have been going astray from my babies. Yes, I call my writing pieces, my babies. I recently started a new job working from 3pm-12am. I know, crazy, right? But, sometimes in life you have to do what you gotta do. Now that I have a couple days to myself, I am catching up on my writing. Yes, I know, I should be writing everyday, but life is stepping in the way. Well, that's no excuse...if life happens, write about it! I also keep a journal and just started doing a personal blog as well. http://thoughtsfromkrystol.blogspot.com. Now, what was I say? Oh yes, when life happens continue to remember you're job that you love doing. Writing is a gift. Many aren't great at it. Some may think they have it, but they don't. But, if you find it's something that becomes fun and a passion for you, then GO FOR IT! After all once you start putting the pen to paper, fingers to keys, and thoughts to notebook, you are a writer. Never let anyone tell you different. You don't have to be published to be a writer.  With all that has been going on with me, I forgot about my babies. I won't do that again. Time management is a necessity for the everyday person. I MUST be on my A game. From now on, I'm going to try and get up early in the morning and get my writing done. Even if I have to write and then go back to sleep. Yea, I'm not much of a morning person at all. I never have been. So, I have to pick a new writing schedule. I'm going to make a point to write everyday, too. No matter how your day has gone always remember pick up the pen and keep doing things,

My Writing Style (MSH Blog Tour)

I know many writer's have a different kind of writing technique that works best for you. I have no clue as to what to say about mine. When I first started writing when I was 15 years old, I would go in my room and talk out my black composition notebook and begin writing poetry. Now, years later, I like to get my Mac and go to work. I write in the morning, noon or night. Now that I have a job, writing for me will be early in the morning. Yes, I have to work on time management. But, I can do it, right? One of mentors tell me all the time, " Write when you feel like it. If you don't want to write, don't." Writing shouldn't be forced but it should come fun to you. Making up characters and having them do what ever you want them to. Sounds fun, right? I  like to write in bed. I know it may sound funny, but I get me some classical music going, have my cup of tea, and I'm in bed making great stories. I love writing in my bed or at my table. But, of course the bed is more comfy, right? I have a desk that I will get put together soon and I will make that my work station.  To my fellow writers on this blog tour and my followers keep it sweet, get your pens or put your fingers to work and keep doing things,

Writing For You

There are many different kind of writers that lives around the world. Some write for TV, Animation, Games, Novel, Poetry, etc. What ever the case is write for you. I know that some of us writer's may write for a network, a publishing company, or a blog. But, since when we do stop writing for ourselves? Sure, our stories are fun and unique but most employers or audiences we have to write for them. I always keep a journal or have a separate folder on my computer of stories and different works I have written for myself. I  feel that writing what you want, when you want will only increase your writing skills. Who knows, some of your writing may be turned into great masterpieces. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing shameful about writing for a company, school, or a network. I still do it. I just feel that the fun of writing for others can sometimes take out of the fun of writing. Freedom of speech is awesome, right? When we write we can say whatever we want to say. Especially if we are in "character". We blame everything on the character and say, " I didn't say that, the character did!" LOL...okay, I know I can be silly. I have always enjoyed writing in general. Sometimes the technical side of writing can be challenging depending on your audience, but it's still doable.  When I first started out in my Master's Creative Program, there were a lot of students who were new to writing. I wasn't being as though I have been writing since I was 15, but I noticed the struggle that it was for some of them. My teacher at the time noticed it too. She gave us all an assignment to keep doing everyday even after our class ended. I want you guys to do this assignment as well. Here it is:

1. Purchase a journal or notebook. ( Evernote is great too!)
2. Write 3 pages a day about ANYTHING. Just commit to 3 pages. ( This will get you writing everyday.)
3. If you feel you want to write more then 3 pages a day, then go for it.
4. Never let anyone read your journal or notebook. ( For your eyes only)
5. After a month go back and read your entries. ( You'd be surprised at how much you can write and what your thought process was while writing those entries.)
6. Have fun while writing.

Some people may think it's immature to keep a journal, but it's not like a diary. I mean, it can be if you choose to do it that way, but it's just notes. It's bring your awareness to channel your thoughts on paper.

Also try this:
Take yourself on a date doing something you have never or never thought you would do. Write about it in your journal. I feel that when you do things out of your norm, you learn more about yourself. Learning about yourself is always a good thing because it shows growth. Growth is moving forward!! To my fellow writers keep writing. But most of all don't forget to take the time and write for YOU! Always keep it classy, professional and keep doing things,
