Writing For You

There are many different kind of writers that lives around the world. Some write for TV, Animation, Games, Novel, Poetry, etc. What ever the case is write for you. I know that some of us writer's may write for a network, a publishing company, or a blog. But, since when we do stop writing for ourselves? Sure, our stories are fun and unique but most employers or audiences we have to write for them. I always keep a journal or have a separate folder on my computer of stories and different works I have written for myself. I  feel that writing what you want, when you want will only increase your writing skills. Who knows, some of your writing may be turned into great masterpieces. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing shameful about writing for a company, school, or a network. I still do it. I just feel that the fun of writing for others can sometimes take out of the fun of writing. Freedom of speech is awesome, right? When we write we can say whatever we want to say. Especially if we are in "character". We blame everything on the character and say, " I didn't say that, the character did!" LOL...okay, I know I can be silly. I have always enjoyed writing in general. Sometimes the technical side of writing can be challenging depending on your audience, but it's still doable.  When I first started out in my Master's Creative Program, there were a lot of students who were new to writing. I wasn't being as though I have been writing since I was 15, but I noticed the struggle that it was for some of them. My teacher at the time noticed it too. She gave us all an assignment to keep doing everyday even after our class ended. I want you guys to do this assignment as well. Here it is:

1. Purchase a journal or notebook. ( Evernote is great too!)
2. Write 3 pages a day about ANYTHING. Just commit to 3 pages. ( This will get you writing everyday.)
3. If you feel you want to write more then 3 pages a day, then go for it.
4. Never let anyone read your journal or notebook. ( For your eyes only)
5. After a month go back and read your entries. ( You'd be surprised at how much you can write and what your thought process was while writing those entries.)
6. Have fun while writing.

Some people may think it's immature to keep a journal, but it's not like a diary. I mean, it can be if you choose to do it that way, but it's just notes. It's bring your awareness to channel your thoughts on paper.

Also try this:
Take yourself on a date doing something you have never or never thought you would do. Write about it in your journal. I feel that when you do things out of your norm, you learn more about yourself. Learning about yourself is always a good thing because it shows growth. Growth is moving forward!! To my fellow writers keep writing. But most of all don't forget to take the time and write for YOU! Always keep it classy, professional and keep doing things,
The Write Way,
Krystol
